- Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until dough forms.
- Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness and cut into festive shapes.
- Place cookies on baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool completely before decorating with royal icing and sprinkles.
