Ingredients
  

  • 4 ripe but firm pears
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 –3 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg optional
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: chopped walnuts pecans, Greek yogurt, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  2. Slice pears in half and scoop out the core
  3. Arrange cut-side up in a baking dish
  4. Mix melted butter, sugar/honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt
  5. Brush mixture over pears
  6. Bake 25–35 minutes until tender
  7. Optionally baste halfway
  8. Serve warm with desired toppings

Notes

Use firm but ripe pears; try Bosc or Anjou for best results; can be made dairy-free with coconut oil; add a splash of bourbon or lemon zest for variation; serve immediately or reheat gently if prepared ahead.
