Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar in a bowl until smooth and glossy.
  3. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract and whisk until combined.
  4. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt just until incorporated.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
  6. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 22–28 minutes until edges are golden and center is slightly soft.
  8. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

Do not overbake to keep blondies chewy and soft.
Spoon and level flour for accurate measurement.
Add nuts or white chocolate chips for variation.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
Warm slightly before serving for extra gooey texture.
