Ingredients
  

For the Beef Filling:
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
For the Homemade Taco Seasoning:
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
For Assembling:
  • 8 small taco shells or tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, mix all taco seasoning ingredients until well combined.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook ground beef until browned.
  3. Drain excess grease from the skillet.
  4. Add taco seasoning, tomato paste, and water to the beef.
  5. Stir well and simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  6. Warm taco shells according to package instructions.
  7. Spoon seasoned beef into each taco shell.
  8. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the seasoning.
Ground turkey can be substituted for a leaner option.
Warm tortillas in a dry skillet for better flavor.
Store leftover beef filling in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
You can double the seasoning mix and store it for future taco nights.
