Ingredients
  

  • All-purpose flour – 250 g 2 cups
  • Granulated sugar – 200 g 1 cup
  • Unsalted butter melted – 115 g (½ cup)
  • Large eggs – 2
  • Milk – 240 ml 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract – 5 ml 1 tsp
  • Baking powder – 5 g 1 tsp
  • Salt – 3 g ½ tsp
  • Mixed fruit berries, apples, or peaches – 150 g (1 cup)
  • Brown sugar – 100 g ½ cup
  • Ground cinnamon – 3 g 1 tsp
  • Powdered sugar for topping – 10 g 2 tbsp, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a medium baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugar, eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the mixed fruit and spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  8. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden on top and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Allow the dessert to cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.
  10. Dust lightly with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.

Use fresh or frozen fruit depending on availability.
Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the dessert soft and fluffy.
Let the dessert cool slightly before cutting to help it set properly.
