These Grilled Tuna Steaks are juicy, flavourful, and incredibly quick to make. With a simple seasoning blend and a hot grill, the tuna develops a beautiful seared crust while staying tender inside. Perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner or a light summer meal.

Ingredients
  

  • Fresh tuna steaks about 2 steaks, 2.5 cm thick – 400 g
  • Olive oil – 30 ml
  • Sea salt – 5 g
  • Black pepper – 2 g
  • Garlic powder – 3 g
  • Paprika – 2 g
  • Lemon juice – 15 ml
  • Fresh parsley chopped – 5 g
  • Lemon wedges for serving – 60 g

Method
 

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates.
  2. Pat the tuna steaks dry using paper towels.
  3. Brush tuna steaks evenly with olive oil.
  4. Season both sides with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  5. Drizzle lemon juice lightly over the steaks.
  6. Place tuna steaks on the hot grill carefully.
  7. Grill for 2–3 minutes on the first side without moving them.
  8. Flip the steaks gently using tongs.
  9. Grill the second side for another 2–3 minutes until the outside is seared and the centre remains slightly pink.
  10. Remove tuna from the grill and let it rest for 2 minutes.
  11. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with fresh lemon wedges.

Notes

• Use sushi-grade or very fresh tuna for the best flavour and texture.
• Avoid overcooking or the tuna may become dry and tough.
• A cast-iron skillet can replace a grill if needed.
• Serve with grilled vegetables, salad, or garlic rice for a balanced meal.
