- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, toss sliced peaches with lemon juice, cinnamon, and half the sugar.
- Pour melted butter into a baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in milk and vanilla to form a smooth batter.
- Pour batter over butter without mixing.
- Spoon peach mixture evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 40 minutes until golden and bubbling.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use ripe, sweet peaches for best flavor.
Do not stir layers—this creates the cobbler texture.
Add nutmeg for extra warmth.
