  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips or chunks

Method

  1. Melt butter in a microwave-safe mug for 20–30 seconds.
  2. Stir in sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
  4. Fold in flour until batter is smooth and no lumps remain.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips gently.
  6. Microwave on high for 60–90 seconds, until the edges are set but the center is gooey.
  7. Let cool for 1–2 minutes before serving.
  8. Optionally, top with whipped cream, ice cream, or extra chocolate.

Notes

Do not overcook, or the center will lose its molten texture.
Microwave times may vary; start with less time and add more if needed.
Use a large mug to prevent overflow.
Best eaten immediately for gooey perfection.
Chocolate chunks can be swapped with white or dark chocolate for variation.
