Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta penne or rotini
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, pasta, and seasonings.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for 12–15 minutes until pasta is tender.
  7. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and cover until melted.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy.

Notes

Recipe Notes:
You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
Use cheddar or parmesan instead of mozzarella if preferred.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
